Enter the Canadian Nurse poll draw (the “Draw”) for a chance to win one of three $100 prizes by answering the poll questions, providing your email address, opting into the Draw, and meeting the eligibility requirements.
The Draw is open to residents of Canada. You are not eligible if you are an employee or representative of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION (which publishes and holds the trademark for Canadian Nurse) or its respective affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, or a member of the immediate family or household of any such employee or representative. For these rules, “immediate family” means spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, son or daughter.
How to Enter
The Draw begins on September 1, 2019, at 12:01 AM EST and ends on November 30, 2019, at 11:59 PM EST (the “Draw Period”).
To enter, visit canadian-nurse.com or infirmiere-canadienne.com and complete the poll questions online. You will be asked to provide your email address at the end of the poll for the sole purpose of contacting the winner.
The following requirements shall be met by CNA, unless exempted by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

If you do not wish to be entered in the Draw, complete the poll questions but don’t opt in to the Draw.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Draw.
LIMIT: Participation in the Draw is limited to one entry per person. Participants seeking to enter the Draw more than once during the Draw Period may be disqualified.
Random Selection of Winners
The Draw consists of three consecutive polls. For each poll, there will be one winner randomly selected to receive a $100 prize.
The first poll will begin on September 1, 2019, and end on September 30, 2019. The deadline for entering the first poll is September 30, 2019, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected on October 15, 2019, at 12 PM.
The second poll will begin on October 1, 2019, and end on October 31, 2019. The deadline for entering the second poll is October 31, 2019, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected on November 15, 2019, at 12 PM
The third poll will begin on November 1, 2019, and end on November 30, 2019. The deadline for entering the third poll is November 30, 2019, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected on December 16, 2019, at 12 PM.
The winners will be randomly selected from all entries received for each poll. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received for each poll. The winners will be randomly selected at the offices of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Notification of Winners
An email message will be sent to the winner at the email address provided during the poll questionnaire.
The winner of each poll will be announced on this web page.
If the selected entrant cannot be contacted and confirmed within four weeks after their name was selected, the prize will be forfeited.
Release of Liability
The CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION and the other Releasees (defined below) will not be responsible for (i) incomplete, late, lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, garbled or irregular entries, or for any entries not received or processed for any reason, including any technical or human error; (ii) any errors, omissions, incorrect or inaccurate information in these Rules, other Draw-related information, including printing or advertising, and other equipment or programming associated with or used in the Draw; or (iii) any failure of the Internet or website at any time, problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, address providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email to be transmitted or received, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to an entrant's computer or to any other individual's computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Draw or accepting a prize.
Liability / Publicity Release
Before being declared the winner, the selected entrants may be required to sign a Declaration of Compliance with the Draw Rules and Release of Liability confirming compliance with these Rules and releasing the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION and its respective affiliates, representatives and agents, including without limitation, their advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their respective employees, officers, directors, agents and assigns (the “Releasees”), from any and all liability attributable to the Draw or arising from the prize awarded in the Draw. Declaration and Release documents must be returned within four weeks of the applicable selection date or the prize will be forfeited.
By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use without payment of their name, address, photograph or other likeness, voice or statements in any publicity, advertising or promotion carried out by the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION or its advertising or promotional agencies, without further consideration.
Authorized Account Holder
If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address is considered to be the authorized account holder. The entrant may be required to provide proof that he or she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry.
By entering the Draw, entrants acknowledge that they have read and understood these Rules and agree to abide by them and all decisions of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to this Draw and the awarding of a prize. Entrants who have not complied with these Rules are subject to disqualification.
The CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant it finds to be: (a) violating the Draw Rules; (b) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Draw or the Draw’s website; or (c) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION suspects that an entrant has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, the entrant will be advised by email that the entrant has been disqualified. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DRAW OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS DRAW MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND/OR CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD ANY SUCH ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Subject to obtaining the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for the province of Quebec, the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION reserves the right to terminate, amend, suspend or reinstate the Draw at any time if any factor interferes with its proper administration as contemplated by these Rules. If the Draw is terminated, the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION will publish a notice on the Canadian Nurse website and a random selection may be conducted from all entries received as at the date of termination. Entrants selected at random must be confirmed as winners as outlined above.
The prize is not transferable, must be accepted as awarded, with no substitutions in cash or otherwise, except at the sole discretion of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION, which reserves the right to substitute the prize of equal or greater value if the prize cannot be awarded as described.
The prize will be shipped within two weeks after a selected entrant is confirmed as the winner and submitted a Declaration of Compliance with the Draw Rules and Release of Liability. The CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION is not responsible for loss or theft caused in the shipment or delivery of the prize to the winner.
All entries become the property of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION and will not be returned. NO CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERED INTO EXCEPT WITH SELECTED ENTRANTS. YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS BEING COLLECTED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF AWARDING THE PRIZE.
The Draw is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws.
For Quebec Residents
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity draw may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
