Practicalities of research
I respect and admire the research conducted by nurses and what it brings to the profession as well the practice of nursing. I thought the Q and A format of “The Practical Side of Research” (Feature, October) was great, and I was hooked until I read the second question: “Why is the research nurses conduct important to the profession and the average bedside nurse?”
I have the privilege of representing over 1,400 nurses in a variety of classifications, with the majority of them in general duty positions. May I suggest there is nothing “average” about bedside nurses and their skill sets.
