Collaboration counts

May 2013   Comments

On behalf of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Nurses Group (CHPC NG), we would like to thank CNA for representing the voices of nurses across the country as it provided input into the Quality End-of-Life Care Coalition’s The Way Forward initiative (@CNA, March).

CHPC NG values CNA’s ongoing support and our close collaboration. Hospice palliative care nursing is one of the specialties for which CNA offers certification, and our organization is a member of CNA’s Canadian Network of Nursing Specialties. Another success story is the result of working closely with the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing to establish palliative and end-of-life care competencies and curriculum, which are being introduced as core curriculum in all schools of nursing in Canada.

We encourage all hospice palliative care nurses to consider joining our organization. For more information, please contact Brenda Hearson at bhearson@virtualhospice.ca.
